This past weekend Wes and I went with my parents to Virginia Beach for a quick getaway. And let me tell you guys that we really needed a break. As some of you know, we lost our puppy Cooper at the end of June and that has taken such an emotional toll on our little family. It's amazing how different things are without that crazy, sweet little boy.
So when my parents suggested a mini-vacay to VA Beach we jumped at the opportunity and it didn't disappoint. We stayed at the
Wyndham which I totally recommend. We were upgraded upon check-in to an ocean front room and it was perfect.
We relaxed on the beach (love that you can rent chairs and umbrellas so you don't have lug your own), had some really good seafood, drank frozen pina coladas, swam, read, listened to everything from Bob Marley to James Brown and just laughed. Sometimes a good laugh is all you need.
Here are some pics from the weekend:
1.) scene from the beach 2.) beach selfie and yes I do have on a bandeau bathing suit top :-) 3.) our balcony where we were looking down on the entertainment (
Jesse Chong - he was really good!) 4.) one of the most gorgeous moons I've seen - this was at 9:30 at night and this pic doesn't even do it justice
Happy smiles
My sweet momma and daddy - we made some great memories of the weekend. Even at my age, sometimes I just really need my parents.
Me trying to take a good pic and Wes being Wes. Love that nut!
I really hope that you guys are having a great week!! Are you guys going on vacation soon? Let me know!
