I’m still here. Honestly,
nothing much has changed in my world lately.
Life is good. No, life is great
actually.
For those of you who have checked on me or who have dropped
me a comment to say that you miss seeing me (your words truly mean so much to
me), I feel like I owe you an update. If
you haven’t the slightest clue what I’m talking about or you’re completely uninterested, then I fully understand and you can feel free to skip this post because it’s
gonna be a wordy one.
I just thought it was time to explain a few things… My health is great, my marriage is as
wonderful as ever, Jayme is still my bestest boo in the world, my career is ticking
along and my family is blessed to also be healthy. No change is a good thing in all of those
cases. The only thing that is really different
in my world is that I’ve stepped away from making videos on our YouTube channel. It’s been – shoot, hold on while I figure it
out – nearly three months since I’ve posted anything on the ol ‘Tube. At first it just felt like I didn’t have
anything worth sitting down to talk about and gradually that turned into a “holiday” break that just felt right at the
time. Without really even talking about
it, Jayme let me know that it was OK if I wanted to step away for awhile and
that I’d always have a place to come back to if I eventually felt the desire to
throw myself back into making videos. Talk
about the greatest gift ever. She’s been
a ROCKSTAR through all of this…putting out more videos than ever and keeping up
with weekly vlogging on top of that. I
know you guys have been loving it. And I
have too. My interest in watching
YouTube videos is the same. I love
keeping up with everyone and seeing your lives, what you’re buying and the
products that you’re loving. I just don’t
feel the need to do it myself right now.
Will I again at some point? I can’t
tell you. And I’m enjoying not having to
decide or really even think about it at the moment. Thank you so much for understanding.
So what am I doing with my time?
Well, for starters, I'm spending as much time as possible with my loves. Chris and I have our dogs out every weekend doing something that is active and fun for them. These moments are my favorite with my little family. I will never ever look back on my life or their life and regret spending every minute possible with them. They are my babies. I saw something recently on Instagram (I wish I could remember who posted it) that said "I work hard so that my dog has a great life." I feel like that sums me up and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm also back in a good routine of working out 3-4 days a week. My goal this year is to stay consistent with my workouts and not fall off the wagon.
I'm trying to save money... I'm in no way on a no-buy, but I've definitely put myself on a low-buy. Shopping my stash (and I have a lot of it!) when it comes to beauty products and I'm tapping the brakes on buying new clothes. I really want to get to a place where I only have things that I absolutely LOVE.
We have a couple of projects that we want to do around the house this year, which is encouraging me to majorly declutter. I like to think of myself as a tidy and organized person, but there are some deep, dark corners of my house that fully need to be purged. I want to look at it like we're moving (even though we're totally not) and that I should only keep things that we need or love too much to let go. Call me crazy, but I'm actually excited about this process.
My love for reading my favorite blogs is at what feels like an all time high right now. And I have so many favorites…lifestyle bloggers, home décor, beauty, food, fashion, exercise, travel. I can’t get enough. I find so much freaking inspiration from them daily. On Fridays, I’ve been sharing a Link Love post that Jayme & I compile to round up some of our favorites from the week. I hope you guys have been enjoying those and that you’ve found some new blogs to follow in the process.
So while you may be seeing less of me, just know that I’m still
around and that I’m interested in anything and everything that you have to say.
I try to pop up on Instagram every few
days but sometimes a week goes by without me even realizing it. I'll try to do better. And in case we don't say it enough, thank you so much for the love and support that you show our little space on the web.
The last thing that I want to leave you with is a quote that
I read not long ago that really struck a chord with me and maybe you’ll find it
inspires you too…
Loads of love to you guys!!
XO,
Mendi
