52 Week Money Challenge in REVERSE!

Last year around this same time we found the "52 Week Money Savings Challenge" and committed to participating. Here's our post if you are interested. We got a little over half way through or so and then guess what happened? WE FAILED! We started using our little money pots as a regular ATM. And to be honest as the weeks went by it got harder to give up the money since the increments started small and got larger and larger.

But this year, we decided to take on the challenge again. And then Mendi discovered via Pinterest the concept of doing the same challenge but in REVERSE. Say what now? How did we not think of this last year?!!  It's the beginning of January where we are dedicated to saving more and we are feeling the most motivated. So why not start with the larger deposits and work your way down? Look at how fast your deposits add up too!! Woo hoo!! And another benefit is that during the end of the year around the holidays you won't feel the pain because you are only depositing a couple of bucks. It's brilliant!

And how do we fix the whole ATM thing...that could be hard but we just have to be firm. But we will do it! In fact, we might end up holding each other's money jars. HAHA! Then we would feel too guilty to use, right? We'll see.

We invite you all to join in too. It really is an easier way to save a little money. By the end of the year you could have $1,378! That could go towards savings, bills, a vacation, tuition or just fun money.

So what do you think? Are you in? We'll blog again about our progress around June and we'll be honest and let you know how it's really going.
