It's Not Delivery...

The last recipe post that I shared was such a hit that I figured I'd throw another one out at you guys, to see if you'd bite...

The hubz & I like to cook "fresh" pizzas on the grill...(read: ingredients straight from our pantry, plus a couple of herbs from my baby garden).

Here's our favorite take on a little at-home-pizza action:

1 Boboli Whole Wheat Pizza Crust
2 packets of Boboli Pizza Sauce (the "saucier," the better)
2 cups of Sargento Shredded Mozzarella
Thick-Sliced Pepperoni (as much as you'd like)
Hot Banana Pepper Rings (as much as you'd like)
Fresh basil
Fresh oregano

And here's what we're working with as we add the layers...

And lastly, the banana peppers for my half of the pizza.  That's right, I said MY half, I like to keep it spicy.  And I said my HALF, because yes, girlfriend was hongry that night...

It's best to place these on a pizza stone & then on your grill.  Sometimes we use the stone, sometimes we don't.  This particular night we just used foil, but the bottom of the pizza did get a little crispier than we like, so next time we'll go back to the stone.  After about 20 minutes, here's what it looked like hot off the grill...

If it wasn't a raging heat wave going on in Richmond, then the hubz & I would have hung out on our deck & enjoyed our freshly (from the pantry) grilled pizza.  Instead, we took it inside where we could enjoy it without sweat on our upper lip.  Ew...yes, I just went there...it happens.  98 degrees is no joke, people.  And no, I'm not referring to the boy band.

I clearly don't have an ounce of Italian in me, but if I did, I would say "buon appetito" (or "enjoy your meal")!

Hope you guys like!  Let us know how you would tweak this recipe to fit your pizza craving!!

  1. I've been craving pizza for so long, this just makes me want it even more! Sometimes my family will bbq pizza for pool parties/family reunions. We get smaller flat breads and a bunch of toppings so everyone can make their own, works great!

  9. Hi Tanya! Don't be jealous of 98 degrees...that's a little crazy, especially with the humidity we have here in Virginia. 98 degrees in Seattle is probably lovely.

By the way, Seattle is one of my fave cities I've ever visited. Def planning to go back there one day soon. ;)

  15. DELICIOUS!!! The Husband and I tried to make pizza once and it turned out horrible. Next time, we will refrain from trying to make our own dough and I'm sure it will be great :) YUMM!
