Love it or Leave it...DiorShow Heat Lash Curler

It's been a little while since our last Love it or Leave it post when we debuted Benefit's sun beam seen here and we are back with another interesting product that is a new release and is a "Limited Edition Sephora Exclusive".  Dior's new DiorShow Heat Curl Heating Lash Curler.  OK, the name of the product seems a wee bit redundant, but on we go!

Here's what Sephora says...

What it is:
A heating lash curler inspired by the backstage techniques of Dior fashion shows for lashes with infinite curves.

What it does:
This lash curler can be used on bare lashes to prep for mascara application, or after mascara is applied to thin the mascara formula and perfectly coat every lash for even application.  The results: enhanced lash curve and perfect, long-lasting hold.

What else you need to know:
This curler optimizes the lash care action of some DiorShow mascaras.

Suggested Usage:
  • Before or after mascara application, on dry lashes, move the switch upwards one or two notches, depending on the desired curl intensity.
  • Place the head of the heating lash curler at the base of the lashes.
  • Glide it upward over the lashes, parallel to the eyelid while pressing lightly.
  • Once the desired results are obtained, move the switch downwards to the off position.
  • Wait for the head of the lash curler to cool before cleaning it with a small brush supplied with the curler.
Retails USD - $25.00

So, what do you guys think?  Love this idea or is a regular lash curler the way to go?  We think this looks really neat, but have to wonder if it really works.  The price point on this tool isn't too bad considering that it's Dior, but on the flip side you can get a normal lash curler for a couple of bucks.  And if anyone owns this, please let us know.  We are so curious because there is one member of HLNC that is scared of the regular lash curlers and would totally try this!

  1. It definitely sounds neat but is a little too "high maintenance" for my routine. I honestly don't normally use a regular lash curler, either!

  2. never tried this, but i do own another heated lash curler don't care for it much

  3. I had a heat lash curler by Panasonic that was pretty good. The only reason I stopped using it was b/c I found the process too time consuming for me so I switched back to using a regular curler. :) A cheaper alternative would be blasting a regular curler w/ a hair dryer for about 3-5 secs to warm it up. Just make sure it's not too hot or you will hurt yourself! (I speak from experience...lol)

  4. I was expecting this product to be much more than $25 for some reason. I kinda like the idea, but knowing me, i'd probably end up sticking with just a plain old lash curler. It works for me!

  5. I used to have a plastic eyelash curler (this exact one...http://www.buymebeauty.com/maybellineexperteyesplasticeyelashcurler.aspx) and used to heat it on the reg with my blowdryer for like 15 seconds. I'd use curl my lashes pre-mascara and it worked like a charm...they stayed super curly all day.

It finally broke recently :( so I bought a metal one by Tweezerman. Needless to say I can't heat THAT with my blowdryer...so I would TOTALLY try this.

    Can't say I'd use it post-mascara, though.

  6. I don't own this but love the idea. I would totally try it because I, too, am afraid of the normal lash curlers. Plus, if it helps even out the application its a win-win. It's about to go in my Sephora basket to be considered...

  7. I am interested to know as well since my eyelashes are my money makers! It seems like a reasonable enough price for me to buy it :)

  8. I feel like I'd definitely like this. My lashes don't hold curl well, and some of mine almost point down, so something that corrects that with heat might be great.
I sometimes blast my lash curler with my hairdryer, let it cool a little and then curl my lashes a bit while it's still warm. This helps a little, but the shape of lash curlers has never gotten all of my lashes.

  9. I'm intrigued and I like that it can be used before or after mascara application. I usually heat up my regular eyelash curler for a few secs with my hair dryer and that works just fine.

  14. I laughed at the "redundant" part...I am not sure I would try it, since I am super quick to apply makeup and it needs to be around $13 for me to buy it...but the proof would be in the pudding. I too wonder if it works!

  15. I would love to get this but it's expensive for a heated lash curler.

Found you through Beautylish! Hope you could follow back! :)

  16. It sounds like a great curler, but I think there are plenty of good heated lash curlers out there that would probably get the job done for cheaper. I've never tried a heated curler before, but I've seen some girls heat up their regular curlers with a blow dryer for a bit :)

  17. I am too lazy to try something like this lol. I will just stick to my ordinary eyelash curler.

  19. I just picked this up today, I'm feeling like it would be too much for my daily routine but for special occasions when I have enough time to prepare then I would use this... Being that I hate false lashes, I think this would be a great addition to my collection. Find youtuber "yasjencon" she made an I depth video on this and that's why I decided o get it

  21. um yea, I would say the name is a bit redundant.
I'm not sure how I feel about the heat curler, I think it's just easier to use the regular curler...I feel like this would be a bit more time consuming..but hope someone tries it out soon so I know what it's like!

  23. I have to admit, I probably wouldn't use this just because I use a regular curler, but it's a cool concept and this is the first I've heard of it. Thanks so much for sharing!!

  24. I have trouble getting out the door as it is, I can't imagine adding this to my routine. Possibly for those special occasions but I'm not sure that a few fake lashes wouldn't do the same job.
