Beauty Battle: Eye Rock Designer Liners

As you guys read in our February Birchbox post, we both received the Eye Rock Designer Liners. We were super excited to try these out and thought a Beauty Battle was the only way to go. For those of you who aren't familiar with our Beauty Battles, it's when we try out a product on our own and keep our opinions to ourselves until we are in front of the camera. Then we reveal what we thought about the specific product live on camera. For our very first Battle please click here.

This is what Birchbox says...

BIRCHBOX BREAKDOWN
As much as we love winged liner, we’re not so crazy about how much effort it usually requires. Shaky wrists and runny liquid formulas conspire to drain our time and energy, which is why we’re glad we discovered these handy stick-on appliques. Each pack comes with four different designs, ranging from classic cat eyes to bold runway-inspired styles.

HOW IT WORKS
The stick-on adhesives are super easy to apply and help you create an array of eye-catching looks. Unlike traditional liners, they won’t smudge or fade.

HOW TO USE
Make sure your eyelid is clean and dry. Peel a liner off the backing, and hold the strip against your lid to measure for a precise fit. Trim off any excess on the inner corners with a pair of scissors, and then place the liner as close to your lash line as possible. If your hands veer on the clumsy side, use tweezers instead. Don’t worry if you have a gap in between your lash line and the liner: just fill it in with a bit of pencil or liquid liner.

Now check out the video below to see what HLNC says:

If you received these in your February box, have you guys tried these yet? And if you didn't or aren't subscribed to Birchbox would you try or buy these? As you just saw, we are unfortunately not fans. But it was sure fun trying these out and sharing with you guys!

  2. "They feel like two small animals hanging out up here." LOVE IT! I'm glad you two tried them out, my first instinct was wow, they actually look good! But I can't handle being uncomfortable (or feeling like an animal is chillin' on my lids).

PS. You girls look great close up!! That is my nightmare, I would never put my face that close to the camera. For my sake and yours! Good for you! :)

  13. I have them and I'm scared. They look painful and sticky. I'm a total no on this one. And hard to get off. Really I thinks it's a good idea (I suck at the cat eye...so not symmetrical) just not well executed. Maybe they'll improve them? New follower from miss hollie's link up. She knows all the cool kids. ;)

  15. i don't loved winged liner. for some reason it always seems over dramatic on me and of course it's not the easiest to usually do though these seem pretty cool. anyway, always appreciate hearing about your beauty products!!!

  18. I watched this last night. The look on your faces when you came back from putting these on = priceless. It made me laugh out loud..with you, not at you :) You ladies can pull off a lot of things. A lot. But these were not one of them. Blue painters tape, haha. Still laughing! I only wish you would have filmed the application process.

  19. I tried these too! I was pretty excited to give it a try before a night out, but unfortunately, I couldn't get mine to fully stick either. Soo it was a fail for me too :( Oh well, it was fun trying! Glad to hear I wasn't the only person who couldn't get them to stick, haha.

  20. Oh my word!!! Those things just appear to be the most annoying things to put on your face!! I haven't tried anything like those before, but I doubt I will anyways. I'm more comfortable with practicing my fun liner looks with liquid liner.

  21. I have GOT to try these out. I usually screw up liquid liner about thirty times before I get it right and who has time for that??? I love lots of liner and the comments of "hoochie" that it elicits from my husband. ;)

  22. These look interesting, and I think the idea behind it is great but they sound a little too fiddly for me. I'd give them a go if I see them here. I ordered my first Glossy Box and was only minimally impressed. Will have to look around for some others here in Australia.

  23. I got this in my birch box too and was so mad. I knew I wasn't going to use them! I'm so glad you girls did this video...it really was fun to watch and I'm totally sure I won't use them EVER. haha

  24. I got them too and haven't tried them yet. However, my friend did and said they were horrible. And I recently read another blogger say how hard they were to apply and that she ended up just having to throw them away. Sounds good in theory, but I totally could just apply eyeliner myself in 2 seconds.
