We both got to try the Lip Glow at the recent Dior "DiorShow New Look" Event that we mentioned in this post and it did produce two different shades of pink, which we were hoping to see. That day Mendi purchased this balm and has been really happy with the results and the smell (vanilla-mint - the description above does not mention smell). We obviously "splurged" on this one. But what do you guys think? Would you splurge and get the Dior with the SPF or go for the more budget friendly Sephora brand just to see if this type of product does in fact live up to it's promise?

I would go with the Sephora brand. Their products are usually great plus I would probably pass out if I were to spend over $12 for a lip product.

My experience with this brand of cosmetics is that it's excellent. I would splurge!! They make awesome red lipstick in the perfect shade too :)
Personally I would just purchase the sephora brand!!

ReplyDeleteI do both, save and splurge. I have the Dior one and I really like it. I have not tried the Sephora one. It's all just a fun gimmicky thing that I think we could all take or leave. If you want a pink balm I think you may be better off just picking out the actual color that you want. Just my thoughts. Fun post! Stacie xo

ReplyDeleteI've recently switched a lot of my makeup products to the Sephora brand to save money, and I have found that most of the time the Sephora brand is just as good and sometimes superior than the splurge worthy brands.
ReplyDeleteThe spf in the Dior makes it tempting to choose that one, but I honestly think I'd stick with the tried and true which is the bargain Sephora brand :)

i love these shades of pink!i wouldn't really know which one to choose.sephora is one of my fav brands cause it combines great quality products in low prices but Dior is DIOR!!!both lovely colours :)

However, sometimes when I opt to buy the cheaper version of what could be a great product, I'm disappointed and never try the more expensive product, when it's actually wonderful! I'm not sure. I wonder if I can sample?! haha. Lovely post :)

ReplyDeleteOh gosh... I've never tried any Sephora lip products, and I also don't own any Dior! I would definitely be tempted by the Dior! I would have to swatch both in person to know...and I'm sure I would go with my gut on it once I swatched it - haha ;)

ReplyDeleteI would definitely try the Sephora line before Dior. I've only bought one Dior lip product (at Sephora actually) and I thought it was a waste of money. Thick, gloppy and smelled like plastic. Yuck! I guess I could have gotten a dud who knows.

Hard decision. I generally buy lipsticks that are even cheaper than the Sephora one.... so if I wanted to splurge, I'd really splurge.
