Before we launch into today's post I just wanted to wish Mendi a very Happy Birthday!! I hope it's the best day ever!! Can't wait to celebrate this weekend!
Recently, we were scrolling through the August issue of allure (on stands now) and came across a blurb about nail polish colors across the country. Basically, the magazine contacted several polish brands and asked them what their best-selling shades were in a few select cities. You guys know how we feel about nail polish, so we were intrigued. This is what they said...
New York City - Essie Mademoiselle
via |
Miami - China Glaze Pink Voltage
via |
Chicago - SpaRitual I Feel the Earth Move
via |
Minneapolis - Duri Mud Slide
via |
Houston - Orly Terracotta
via |
Seattle - Zoya Kristen
via |
Los Angeles - Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
via
What do you guys think?? Do you believe that polish shades are a regional thing? If you are from one of the cities mentioned above, we'd love to know if you've seen allure's polish pick trending in your town. Or if you're city isn't on the list, let us know if you have noticed a popular color popping up where you live.

Happy Birthday Mendi!!! hope all your wishes come true :) But this trend makes sense! Miami's hot pink with all of the beach-ness while Seattle is muted just like their rainy weather. very fun :)
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY MENDI!!! I hope it is a great one. I love this & I would have to agree I live in Florida and I see different forms of pinks all the time. Right now I am wearing
ReplyDeleteI Eat Mainely Lobster from the OPI Touring America collection (Fall 2011) & It is bright pink/coral shimmer. Great Post.

Happy birthday Mendi! I've never thought about my city (Kansas City) having a favorite nail polish color before, but I'm not a huge nail polish-wearer so maybe I just haven't noticed!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe there isn't an OPI on here. That is by far my fave brand...then Essie! have you ladies seen the new metallics from Essie??? Amazing! Happy Birthday, Mendi!
ReplyDeleteShanna
Happy Birthday Mendi. Love the china glaze.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny, because as I was scrolling down, I could totally place the color with the city...like it made sense! In Ottawa ( a slightly more conservative, government town), I see french tips and a classic red, as the norm. The trendy color is coral right now :)
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day ! ^^

Happy Birthday Mendi! And some mag did this a year or two ago. I can't remember all the cities, but I remember Essie Chinchilly was big in Chicago and San Franciso! I don't know how regional it really is, because in Savannah I never see anyone wear the same polish as me.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Mendi. Hope you had a great one.
ReplyDeleteOoh! No opi. Love the Essie
Oh I want that Mint Sorbet color!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY MENDI, I hope it's the best year yet!!
