We flew from Richmond to Philadelphia and then on to the Dominican. In total it was about 4.5 hours of travel. The airport we flew into was not air conditioned, but had "Big Ass Fans" so it was not so bad while waiting in line for about 30 minutes for customs. (And seriously the brand of fans is called Big Ass Fans. I should have snapped a picture, but I was a bad blogger!) We then had hotel transportation waiting to whisk us away to our resort. It was only about a 30 minute ride to the hotel and then it was vacation time! Just one quick note, when entering DR, you have to have $10.00 USD cash for a tourist card. It doesn't really do anything, as it's just like a tax we pay, but some passengers were scrambling to pull out cash. And when leaving DR, I guess depending on the time of year, you need to leave your hotel so that you have at least 3 hours at the airport before your flight. That might sound excessive but we needed every minute. Leaving the country took way longer than entering. We waited in line to get checked in and to check our bags for probably 40 minutes and then spent another 40 minutes in line to get through customs.
Hope you enjoy my vlog of our trip. Please excuse the shakiness and how awful I look at the very end of the vlog. This girl was up early and was exhausted! And at the very end of the vlog I added in some pictures, so I hope you make it through to see those. By the way, the very last photo is my signature face and it's just us reppin VA! :-)
Sadly, there will be no haul video for me to post. There were some shops but they were ridiculously expensive so all I did buy was a marble turtle (weird but totally my thing) and a CD from the pool DJ.
Thanks for watching!!! Please let us know if you would like to see more vlogs even if they are just around town.
P.S. We are going to film a video soon to answer some questions we have received. It's a little "Q&A with @HerLateNightCra". Aren't we clever using our Twitter handle in the title? But seriously, let us know if you have anything you'd like to know!

It looks like such a beautiful place! That is wonderful that you were able to visit. And I'm still laughing at the Big Ass Fans! :P

Thank you for sharing your heavenly trip with us Jayme!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of our trip to Hawaii last year. Everything was expensive there too but not that much (40 bucks!!!!) for sunscreen.
And the food in Hawaii was to die for!
Great photos, you look happy and tanned and relaxed.
Looks like you had a great time! I know a few people that have stayed there. I think the resort is only a few years old. I like Hard Rocks for the first day or so and then they kinda drive me nuts with the music everywhere all the time. I SO agree about kids and the pool area! I've heard that area is way over priced. We have a timeshare in Cabo. Haven't been in a few years though because airfare is so $$$. I love mexico! Thanks for sharing your vacay with us! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to go on a trip like that! Looks amazing!! I am ashamed to admit I've never been out of the U.S. lol
